New Organ Scholar

The Lucian Singers have a new organ Scholar, Michael Bradshaw.

Michael Bradshaw was born in Brisbane but grew up in Japan where his parents worked as academics. In 2004, he moved back to Brisbane to complete his senior education at St. Peters Lutheran College.  It was here that Michael joined the St. Peters Chorale and met Graeme Morton who became his classroom teacher and musical mentor. At St. Peters, Michael continued piano studies with Therese Milanovic and gained an A.Mus.A (Distinction) and L.Mus.A in Piano.

Michael Currently studies music at UQ with Max Olding as his piano teacher and as his organ teacher. His interests are diverse, ranging from reading to mathematics, and has struggled to decide what he wants to do in the future. However, at this point he is very happy committing himself to his musical education.

He is passionate about sharing music with others and can see a possible future in teaching, playing music, and conducting.

To the Holy Spirit was recently premiered at SpiritFest, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Brisbane as commissioned by the Royal School of Music; and The Angel and The Girl: The Annunciation was recently completed for "The Lucians" – Christ Church St. Lucia Choir. His choral works are projected for CD releases by Brisbane Chamber Choir and the choir of Christ Church St. Lucia.

Paul also sings in a professional vocal quartet called “Guido’s Hand” which is so named after the 11th century monk ‘Guido d’Arezzo’ who pioneered the first ever system of musical notation and musical ‘sol-fa’. He is also a heavily active participant in the Brisbane choral scene, being a singer in “So-la Voce” chamber choir directed by Réka Csernyik and Brisbane Chamber Choir and “The Lucians” directed by Graeme Morton.
